Usually we say to a leader, "you will have to earn my respect." However, the fear of the Lord says, "I see the authority that God has placed on you, therefore you already have my respect." Judgement came, but it was by the sword of the Lord, not by God's people. God is the one who brings judgment on authorities. We are commanded to pray and honor these leaders.
